Seafarer’s Rights Policy

The Company is an equal opportunity employer and treats its employees fairly with respect and dignity. It values its seafarers, respects their human rights, and provides an environment in which they are informed, involved and able to exercise their rights.

The Company has zero tolerance to any form of discrimination, harassment, violence, or retaliation on basis of ‘Protected Characteristics’, which include age, civil status, colour, culture, descent, disability, gender, language, maternity / paternity, national or ethnic origin, political opinion, pregnancy, race, religion, sexual orientation, rank / hierarchy etc.

Company firmly believes and supports safeguarding the following fundamental rights of Seafarers:

  • Complying with MLC, which reinforces seafarers’ human
  • Safe and secure workplace where safety standards are complied
  • Freedom of association, including seafarers right to join a trade union of their
  • Effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining (the right of a union to negotiate a CBA on seafarers’ behalf).
  • The elimination of all forms of forced or compulsory labour. Company recognizes seafarers’ right to work of their own free will and to be paid for that work.
  • Elimination of discrimination in respect of employment and
  • Supporting and respecting the UN Universal Declaration of Human Rights plus all relevant labour and employment laws.
  • By not seeking exemptions over and above those already provided for in the statutory or regulatory framework related to human rights, including labour rights, environmental, health, safety, or security recognising that these rules are in place to protect seafarers, the public, the marine environment, and the
