Personnel Recruitment and Training Policy

The Company believes that all its employees must live with social and economic dignity and freedom, regardless of nationality, gender, race, economic status, or religion. In the management of its businesses and operations, the Company ensures that it upholds the spirit of human rights as enshrined in existing international standards such as the Universal Human Rights Declaration and the Fundamental Human Rights Conventions of the ILO.
The personnel on board and office are the key to successful implementation of the Company’s Safety Management System (SMS). Company policy with regards to selection of personnel is stated below:
- The company does not provide employment to the people below the age as prescribed by the applicable laws and expects its business partners and suppliers to follow the same standards.
- Company will not obtain any work or service from any person under the menace of any penalty and for which the person has not offered himself or accepted to work voluntarily.
- Company will not engage in any malpractice resulting in restricting workers to leave the work wilfully and their free movement within the workplace.
- Above mentioned is also expected from its In case, the violation of this policy becomes known to the Company and not been corrected, the company would discontinue the business relationship with the non-compliant business partner.

The recruitment is carried in a transparent manner, paving no room for malpractices / unprofessional conduct such as extending preferential treatment or favouring those having influence of political outfit, bureaucrats or worker representative bodies, unless the candidate is found suitable / apt for the position concerned, possessing the required qualifications, skills and relevant experience.
- The Company will recruit only such personnel for service on board ships who comply with the Flag State Regulations, all appropriate mandatory regulations and STCW Convention recommendations.
- The Company will man all its ships at least in accordance with the Safe Manning Certificates issued by the Flag State.
- All personnel to be recruited on board ships will undergo an interview by one of the Company’s offices or its appointed Manning Agencies.
- All personnel recruited will undergo a medical fitness test prior joining in accordance with the requirements of the In the absence of guidelines from the administration, the IMO -ILO guidelines for medical examinations of seafarers will be used.
- The Company will monitor the performance, ability and conduct of the staff on board through appraisal reports from Masters, Chief Engineers and Shore based Managers.
- The Company will provide information to the ships to encourage the staff to improve and update their knowledge and to upgrade their qualifications.
